Equality before the law is one of the main directions of the work of ADRF. Since 2005, we have been implementing the "Free Legal Aid and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities" program. The program arose as a need of the lack of access to the services of the justice sector by the community of persons with disabilities. Access to justice for persons with disabilities was a denied right not only due to the fact that this community was excluded and is among the poorest, but also due to the lack of accessibility, institutional and social discrimination. Over the years, a unique legal resource center has been created for the rights of persons with disabilities through: a) providing legal assistance to more than 3,500 persons with disabilities and their family members; b) legal improvements in accordance with international standards, where 25 legal and by-laws in the field of disability have been influenced and improved; c) legal education, through the exercise of advocacy, monitoring, training, information, legal expertise, in partnership and cooperation with the institutions of the justice system, as well as central and local ones. The publications prepared within this program have influenced the addressing of disability issues at all levels.
