Equality under the law is one of the main directions of ADRF's work. Since 2005, we have been implementing the program ‘Free Legal Aid and Advocate for Persons with Disabilities’. The program was set up as a need for lack of access to justice sector services by the community of people with disabilities. Access to justice for people with disabilities was a denied right not only due to the fact that this community was excluded and among the poorest, but also due to lack of accessibility, institutional and social discrimination. Over the years, a unique legal resource center has been established for the rights of persons with disabilities through: a) providing legal aid to more than 3,500 people with disabilities and their families; b) legal improvements in accordance with international standards, where 25 legal and sub-legal acts in the field of disability have been influenced to be improved; c) legal education, through the practice of advocacy, monitoring, training, information, legal expertise, in partnership and cooperation with the institutions of the justice system, as well as central and local ones. The publications prepared under this program have influenced the addressing of disability issues at all levels.
