The Albanian Disability Rights Foundation (ADRF), in cooperation with the Centre for the Rights of Roma Women (CRRW) and the Alliance Against the Discrimination of LGBT Community (LGBT Alliance), is implementing the project “Promotion of the Rights of Women from the Vulnerable Groups about the Information on the Services Provided for the Abused Women and the Access to these Services”; this is a project that is being implemented within the initiative “Ending Violence against Women in the Western Balkans and Turkey – Implementing Norms, Changing Minds”, funded by the European Commission and implemented by UN Women.

The objective of this project is to empower the women and girls in the regions of Tirana, Elbasan, Shkodra and Vlora, who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing discrimination and violence, for them to have access in quality services for the women who have survived violence. For this reason, the ADRF and the cooperating organizations will: (i) provide accessible information for women with disabilities, women from Roma and Egyptian communities, LGBT community and other groups, about the services provided in this area as well as their right to utilize these services (alternative formats will be prepared for the disabled women including the blind women, women with hearing and speech impairment and the women with intellectual disabilities; (ii) enhance the capacities of the women organizations and those organizations focused on the rights of minorities and vulnerable groups to inform women of the communities they work with and facilitate their access to different services for women, victims of abuse and violence; (iii) raise the awareness and enhance capacities of the public service providers about the obligations deriving from the international and national legislation.
